The news on Rajinikanth-Kamal Hassan teaming up again with Marudhanayagam, which was on cold storage for over a decade, has turned out to be a baseless speculation. The Universal Star's PRO has clarified that the actor is not planning to revive the 15-year-old movie.
The PRO, who is active on Twitter, wrote, "The news about Rajinikanth starring in Marudhanayagam is false, its an 15 year old news. Kamal sir haven't spoken anything about this recently." Currently, the actor is busy shooting his forthcoming movie Vishwaroobham in Mumbai.
Post Vishwaroobham, Kamal Hassan will start Thalaivan Irukinran to be reportedly directed by Shankar. "After Vishwaroobham, Kamal sir is doing Thalaivan Irukinran for Oscar films..Now he is busy shooting at Mumbai for Vishwaroobham."
Earlier, it was said that Kamal Hassan was keen to complete his long-pending Marudhanayagam, which was started in 1997 before dropping midway due to financial constraints. The actor wanted to cast Rajinikanth in an important role.
